Modified citrus pectin – also known as fractionated pectin – is a complex polysaccharide derived from the peel and pulp of citrus fruits. Modified citrus pectin has the natural ability to surround and trap heavy metal ions, thus facilitating the elimination of heavy metals from the body.* In addition, the citrus molecules are cleaved – aka modified – in such a way that they are rich in galactoside residues, which have their own innate affinity to bind to various types of unwanted cells.
